In an additional note to the earlier post dealing with Utopia, I only have this to say:
Utopia is defined as an imaginary and indefinitley remote place, or an impractical scheme for social improvement.
Utopia comes from the Greek words ou(not, no) and topos(place), therefore, Utopia comes from the word meaning "Nowhere."
That is all.

People always want an enemy, someone unequivocally Evil to oppose, focus their energy against, and unite against. It simplifies life by making it one-dimensional. They can think less.
They don't really like peace, not when you get right down to it.

| Violence and Utopia? |
[08 Sep 2003|06:38pm] |
In human societies, violence is a universal concept, and something all ruling groups have had to deal with, if not inflict regularly.
Is there any good way to deal with violence in a Utopia?

| Smart? |

'Smart' Dust Knows Where to Go
Smart bombs. And now, smart dust.
In this context, "smart" referrs to an inanimate object being able to accomplish a single task. And as it is without conciousness, it cannot challenge this task.
Can this idea of "smart = following orders well" be applied successfully to a person's role in society?

And welcome to here.
This community was inspired by a very simple concept: power is the biggest concern of man. If you disagree, I'd love to hear about it.
I'd like to jumpstart with a question:
What is the best form of control, fear through aggression or persuasion through propaganda?
